What do Britney Spears, Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction, Céline from Before Sunrise, Juno and Dani from Midsommar have in common?
CELE-BODY is a multimedia theatre performance directed by Nalia Ziku and written by Sofia Gourgouliani, drawing inspiration from real and fictional female figures of popular culture to explore the social construction of gender, identity, and femininity.
Through poetic, associative writing, original music, video, and a distinctly pop and dreamlike visual language, the performance brings together women whose stories unfold across different cinematic and cultural universes.
Moving between reality and fiction, CELE-BODY explores how female identities are constructed, represented, and transformed through the images, narratives, and expectations of popular culture.
