“Once my mother asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her I wanted a leaf to sprout from my roots. She told me to eat so I'd grow taller. What I meant was that I wanted to bloom without rotting.”
Konstantia is a hybrid stage performance by Nalia Ziku, written by Sofia Gourgouliani, emerging from the sonic universe of Warfetti, a podcast that received a Special Mention at the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
Three women, three generations. A shared story unfolding through Carnival celebrations, love, loss, and secret desires. A small town where bodies remember, ache, celebrate, and name the world anew, in their own words.
Through live sound manipulation, original music, soundscapes, and video projections, the performance creates a theatrical “non-place” where theatre intersects with installation art and cinematic sound. Sound does not merely accompany the action; it creates it.
Konstantia is a celebration of a woman reclaiming her life, even when everything seems lost.
